The primary goal of New York Hair Academy is to develop in our students the highest possible degree of technical and professional competence. We train each of our students in the principles and practices of Cosmetology, Instructor, Barber, Manicurist.

1. Mission Statement:

The primary goal of New York Hair Academy is to develop in our students the highest possible degree of technical and professional competence. We train each of our students in the principles and practices of cosmetology and barbering. New York Hair Academy is continually trying to provide each of our students with marketable skills and professional attitudes. These attitudes emphasize responsibility and commitment to self, employers, colleagues, clients, and community.

Our objective

Is to train each student in the technical and social skills necessary to be a successful, competent cosmetologist or barber. Instruction takes place through a combination of theory class, practical work, clinic experience, group and individual activities. At the completion of our program, the student is prepared to enter the beauty profession and continue to grow and develop and make a contribution to the profession.

2B: Religious accommodation:

The New York Hair Academy will provide reasonable religious accommodations to students who have religious practices or beliefs that conflict with a scheduled course / program requirement. Students requesting a religious accommodation must make the request, in writing, directly to their instructor within the first two weeks of the beginning of the course and provide specific dates on which the student requests an accommodation. Being absent from class or other educational responsibilities does not excuse students from keeping up with the shared information or expectations set during the missed class. Students are responsible for obtaining the materials and information provided during any missed class. The student must work with the instructor to determine a schedule to recover lost work. Examples of religious accommodations may include:

  • • Rescheduling an exam or giving a recovery exam for the student;
  • • Alter the presentation time of a student;
  • • Allow additional credit assignments to replace lost class work or organize greater flexibility on the due dates of assignments;
  • • Free an instructor trainee from teaching or research responsibilities on a given day.

3. Application and Admissions Requirement:

New York Hair Academy requires that an applicant for cosmetology or barber school must:

  • a. Be 16 years of age and have documented proof

New York Hair Academy does not recruit students attending or admitted to other schools offering similar programs of study. Students wishing to transfer from another school offering a similar program must wait a minimum of three (3) business days after their termination. Transferring cosmetology students must take a minimum of 900 hours of training to be eligible for an New York Hair Academy Diploma. There is no transfer agreement for barbering students. Exceptions for transferring students must be approved by the School Director. Credited hours from the originating schools will be accepted if approved by the School Director and the State Board of Cosmetology.
